Free Initial Consultations
What to expect at our first meeting:
At Mikowski and Leonard, LLC we offer free half hour initial consultations to all potential clients. If you require additional time for a consultation, we are happy to schedule a longer initial meeting, however we would charge for the additional time at our standard hourly rate, based only on the amount of time spent with our attorneys beyond the initial half hour. Often, potential clients come to us unsure of what to expect and nervous about dealing with an attorney, sometimes for the first time in their lives. We understand that the whole process can be stressful. Below, we have outlined what to expect at your first meeting with us, in order to alleviate some of the stress.
We use the initial consultation to hear your story, review any documents you have, assess your case, and help you start to review your options. After reviewing our opinion of your options with you, we will discuss our fee structure based on the type of case, complexity of the issues, and what legal course of action you wish to pursue. At the end of the meeting we can sign documents allowing us to begin protecting your rights and interests immediately.
Setting up the Appointment:
The first step is for you to call us at (617) 651-1150 or email us at Attorneys@MLAttorneysAtLaw.com to schedule your free no obligation initial consultation. Using either method, we will ask for your name, phone number, and a brief description of the type of case you are contacting us about. Often one of our attorneys will answer the phone or email you back directly, usually within a few hours. We will setup a meeting with you and will ask you to come to our office in downtown Boston, located close to the Government Center and the State T stops. If you call and one of our attorneys is unable to answer your call, please leave your name and the best phone number to reach you at and you will receive a return call shortly.
What to bring to the Appointment:
Please bring all documents related to your legal matter. Any notes, court documents, receipts, contracts, photographs, etc. will be helpful. Remember, the purpose of the initial meeting is to allow us to provide you with our assessment of your legal issue(s). The more documents you can provide the more accurate the assessment.
What to expect when you arrive:
You will need a photo ID and we will have already added you to the visitor list with security. We are located on the 7th floor. When you get off the elevator, let the receptionist know who you are and who you are meeting with. One of the attorneys will meet you in the lobby area and bring you back to our office.
After filling out some forms providing us with basic information, we will ask you about your particular case and what your ideal outcome would be. We will then review any documents you brought with you and discuss your options and the possible outcomes would be for different legal strategies.
Finally, if you are satisfied with the legal course of action we have developed with you, we will discuss our fee structure. We discuss this last because many aspects of your case, and your desired course of action can greatly affect the cost of representation.
We work with all of our clients to ensure they are able to pursue a legal course of action that provides them with the best possible outcome for their specific situation, and we do so efficiently and aggressively. We offer an extremely competitive hourly rate. Further, we accept credit card payments both of retainers and flat fees to offer our clients added flexibility and convenience.
